Kickstart your journey to local renewable energy with our comprehensive heat decarbonisation planning support

Greater South East Net Zero Hub – Data analysis
Establishing a strategy is the first step in the heat decarbonisation planning process. It involves gathering key information on the current energy consumption and emissions intensity of your buildings, as well as setting objectives and targets.

Developing a strategy heat decarbonisation plan will help organisations to secure decision–maker and stakeholder buy-in and understand where to start the heat decarbonisation planning process.

Furthermore, it can help to prioritise which projects should be brought forward for further planning work first.

Strategy-stage heat decarbonisation plan

In partnership with Energy Systems Catapult (ESC), Salix, and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), we have created two strategy-stage templates and a guide to help you develop a strategy-stage heat decarbonisation plan in-house:

An Excel-based Strategy-Stage Data Capture Form to help you collect essential data on your estate

A Word-based Strategy Template for compiling key considerations into a coherent strategy document

A PDF guide on developing and delivering your strategy

We can provide technical guidance to help you complete the templates, advise you on next steps and support with any future funding applications.

By developing a strategy stage HDP in-house, or with some light support from GSENZH, it will help build internal capability and ownership of the strategy development process, save time on procuring external support, and support decision-making for any future phases of the Local Carbon Skills Fund.
