Accelerating local net zero projects

We work with public sector organisations and their stakeholders to support the development and financing of local net zero projects.

Our purpose is to increase the number, scale and quality of local net zero projects.

Power Generation

Local clean power projects are being developed by all types of public sector organisations to help meet net zero targets, generate income, and bring benefit to communities. We can provide you with advice.

Heat and Buildings

Cutting the carbon emissions produced by buildings helps public sector organisations meet their zero carbon goals and save money. We can help you with your project.

We support public sector organisations to cut the carbon emissions produced by their fleets and transport infrastructure, and by other road transport in their local areas.

Local Energy Systems

The transition of the energy system to net zero is decentralising energy generation and demand, and this is changing how the energy system is planned and operated at a local level. Local authorities have an essential role to play.

Domestic Retrofit

Making homes more energy-efficient will contribute to net zero goals and help people who struggle to keep their homes warm. We are administering government-funding schemes, supporting the trial of new ways to provide advice to households, and helping to develop the supply chain in the Greater South East region.

An increasing number of communities are now acting to tackle climate change themselves with their own local clean community energy project. Support, advice, shared experience, and funding is available from a range of sources. We are administering the government’s Community Energy Fund in the region.

Financing Local Net Zero

There are opportunities to obtain finance for local net zero projects that go beyond the more familiar funding sources. We encourage public sector project developers to consider alternatives. Get in touch with us for a conversation about options and how to make your project more investable.
